Better Botanicals Named Best Lip Balm in 2008 Beauty with a Conscience Awards
Ayurvedic lip balms are tops among healthiest skin care products, says Natural Solutions Magazine in its 2008
Petaluma, CA - September 24, 2008 - Better Botanicals LLC, an Ayurvedic skin care company, proudly accepted the title of “Best Lip Balm” in Natural Solutions Magazine’s “2008 Beauty with a Conscience Awards,” which was selected after more than 600 qualifying natural products in 30 categories were tested in their search for the healthiest skin care products of the year.
“We’re thrilled to have our Ayurvedic lip balms recognized by Natural Solutions Magazine, especially given the wonderful company we had in the category,” says Lawson Rothgeb, General Manager of Better Botanicals. “It’s a great feeling to know that others agree our company makes an award-worthy lip balm.”
Better Botanicals topped an elite field in winning this award. The products included in the testing were held to a very high standard; Natural Solutions included only products that met the Whole Foods Market Premium Body Care standard – this means the products were free of the more than 250 toxins commonly in many women’s care products deemed by Whole Foods Market to be unacceptable for personal care products. All products were paraben free. Only products that used the cleanest, healthiest ingredients were invited to participate – companies with a conscience.
“Out of the hundreds of natural products that passed our criteria, your product stood head and shoulders above the rest,” says Elizabeth Marglin, Associate Editor of Natural Solutions Magazine. ”You have earned our admiration for combining healthy ingredients and sustainable processes with the luxury and indulgence of high-end skincare.”
Better Botanicals is known for its commitment to providing the purest herbal skin care products available - specifically delivering products that do not use synthetic colors or fragrances, alcohol, mineral oil, animal ingredients or so-called “bandwagon” ingredients (ingredients that are more fashionable and trendy than practical or productive from the herbal point of view). An integral part of its offering is the education component, ensuring that consumers are aware and informed when making their choices between herbal face, body and hair care products.
“Our commitment extends well beyond delivering exceptional herbal products to our customers,” says Patricia Tedeschi, Co-owner of the company and Director of Education and Training for Better Botanicals. “An integral part of Better Botanicals’ offering will be consumer education about herbal skin, hair and body care – our focus is on helping our customers choose the best possible combination of herbal products, so they get a terrific, natural result.”
Better Botanicals products are based on Ayurveda, the world’s oldest and most widely-practiced school of herbal medicine, originating in India 5,000 years ago. Most of its products are manufactured under Ayurvedic license (distinct from a cosmetic license). The products rely on Ayurveda’s pure, balancing herbs to offer products that work with the body’s natural rhythm and intelligence to enhance both health and beauty.
